Apple Tarte Tatin


PREP TIME 10 minutes
COOK TIME 20 minutes


1 cup caster sugar
¼ cup water
Pinch of Tasman sea salt
50g Ashgrove butter
4 granny smith apples, cores removed and cut in eighths
1 sheet puff pastry


Step 1
Preheat oven to 200°C. In a pan over medium heat add sugar, water and salt. Simmer until sugar starts to brown. Add in butter and allow to melt, for approximately 2 minutes.

Step 2
Evenly place apples over the caramel in the pan. Cut pastry to the size of the pan and place over apples. Prick the pastry with a fork and place in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
