Mexican Buttermilk Fried Chicken
PREP TIME 10 minutes
COOK TIME 15 minutes
600g Nichols chicken drumsticks
500ml Meander Valley buttermilk
1 cup plain flour
Old El Paso taco seasoning mix
Pinch of Tasman sea salt
600ml canola oil
In a bowl add chicken and pour buttermilk over the top. Place in the fridge to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
In a bowl combine plain flour, taco seasoning and salt. Coat drumsticks in seasoning and place into a pot of oil at 160°C. Fry for approximately 5-10 minutes or until batter is golden brown and crispy.
